No alternator light / Petronics II ignition

After finally getting the car to run I enjoyed driving my car for a full week, ( you can say WOW ) all was well, but now my altternator/ gas light don't go on when i turn on the ignition, oil light is fine. My question... is there a relay that might have blow for that ?

The points have to go. To much hassle. I want to go with the Petronics II electronic ignition. I understand this is the one to use on a 74 2.0 F.I. with a stock distributor that has trigger points. Without taking the dist. out to get the numbers can i use the VIN or mfg. #'s as a reference ?

Check your wiring first and then run a meter over the battery to make sure you have around 13.8 volts give or take a bit,this is best done with some load on the system,headlights on high beam and heater on full....you get the picture.
The ignitor 2 system for your car is the way to go,you just need to order for your engine size and year,be aware the shaft cam is a very tight fit so take your time fitting it on to the shaft.
Make sure your dizzy is clean inside and the advance plate moves easy,give it a good wash in brake cleaner to wash out 40yrs of crap,check to see if the vacuum advance works by sucking on the hose,if not sort that before fitting the new ignition,cheers.
