Where is this bracket from?

I am rebuilding a 1974 1.8L engine, and when putting together the engine sheet metal I am left with the bracket in the pictures. Does anyone know what it is for? Where on the engine does it mount? Is it from the fuel injection system, somehow holding the air cleaner?

Thanks,
Andrei.

I can't get a good read on the shape of the part, mostly because of the shadows and contrast. Can you take some better pictures?

The bracket is one of two that support the underdash evaporator/blower unit from a VPC dealer installed A/C unit.

Thanks! So if I don't have AC I can ignore this part, right?

Correct...ironically I had to source two of these brackets last year to complete the parts needed for the installation of a VPC unit to my 914-6. More about that adventure to come in a prospective post.
