Question 2.0 engine

I need to Know what year engine serial# GA000522 is and what hp it has? Is this a good engine to rebuild? I can purchase it for my 914

GA = '73-'74 914 2.0, 7.6 to 1 CR. Should have the three stud heads. Make sure you get the cooling tin with that motor. It's a good motor just like any motor if it doesn't have any serious problems with the case. I have a GA motor in my race car. It came align bored 10 over. FORTUNATELY, the bore was good. Hard to find those bearings, though. RIMCO has them for about $100 as opposed to less than half that for stock align bore.

I think that was originally a 95 HP motor.

Thanks Zeke, Thats good news. The engine will needs a rebuild but should be a good start for a big four.
