Question Just a Tech Question, ANYBODY help PLEASE

At a stop...I put the car into first gear and let out on the clutch...IT SHAKES the engine and car until the gear is fully engaged.
First gear is the only gear that this is happening in and the car drives cherry outside of first. If it were a VW, I'd say its the Tranny/engine mounts. I don't see any damage to my mounts and they aren't loose.
Somebody suggested that my clutch plate may have broken (the spring area rivets). Am I simply in need of a clutch kit, or do I have a more serious problem like a bad transaxle or cv joints?

ANY AND ALL HELP IS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED....Me and my 914 give THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I just went through this . . . you can't really determine the condition of the tranny/motor mounts 'til they're out of the car. Mine looked OK before I removed them, but once they were out I could see that the tranny mounts were pretty chewed up. I replaced both sets of mounts & the car is smoooooth now.

Another possibility to consider is a leaky rear engine oil seal. A leaky seal here can let oil contaminate your flywheel. Take a look where the engine & tranny meet & see if there's any fresh oil dripping from that location.

Good luck,

Mark
