FS- 3.0L Complete Engine
The engine is type 930/07 which is a 1980 USA 911 SC 3.0L engine. The engine number is 6451075. Mileage is less than 25,000. The engine has had the same owner for the past 20 years and it has always been professionally maintained. When purchased in 1986 the motor had been completely rebuilt using new pistons and cylinders. It is not known whether the rebuild was due to a mechanical issue or to increase performance. In any case it was an excellent job as the motor is very dry and leak down results are excellent:
Cylinder No.1- 6%, No.6-5%, No.2- 4%, No.4- 6%, No.3- 6%, No.5- 4% I think it should be noted that leak down is more about comparing one cylinder to another than looking for numbers in a certain range. One tester may say 3%, and another could say 6%. The main thing is that all cylinders were within 2% of each other, and that consistency is what is important. The engine was never raced or driven hard, and was used primarily on the highway. It was removed from the 911 for an engine upgrade and I was planning to use in a 914-6. It was removed complete, as can be seen in the pictures and will be sold as pictured, complete with exhaust, induction, flywheel, clutch, etc. There are plenty of engines out there represented as “rebuilt” or “low mileage” and many of them fail to live up to the promise. We’ve all heard the horror stories. I personally drove all the way to Moab, Utah to pick up the engine and was extremely impressed not only by the motor, but by the owner. I would never spend this kind of money unless I was confident in what I was buying, and I would never expect someone else to. I sold a 911 roller through Pelican’s BBS a few months ago and my description of the car was honest and largely negative. It sold quickly, and the buyer had no trouble selling it for more than I was asking. My point is that I’m not out to misrepresent anything. This is NOT the motor from the basket case I sold, I still have that one and I'll be rebuilding it to use in my 914-6. I’m only selling the motor to help finish construction of my shop. I’d prefer to handle the transaction in person, but I understand that it’s not always possible. I’ll do my best to work with buyers, and will crate and prepare it as needed for shipping at no extra charge and drop it off at a local freight terminal in Las Vegas. The buyer is responsible for making all shipping arrangements; expect shipping to range from $200-500 depending on who you use. It should weigh around 450lbs with the pallet. I may be able to deliver within a few hundred miles for a reasonable fee. I’ve completed a number of high dollar transactions with respected members of the Porsche community, so I can give references if needed. Price is $4250, and I will have cash in hand before it ships. I am more than happy to do business in person and would actually prefer it to shipping if possible. In that case I’d take a deposit via paypal, and take the balance in cash upon delivery or pickup. Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
