Parting Out '71 914 Rust Bucket

This '71 914 seemed to hold great promise until I found out what a "hell hole" is. This car's unitbody frame and pan are rusted almost all of the way through.

All four fenders appear solid and strangely rust free. Passenger rear has a crease/ dent that runs back to tail light. Should be an easy repair. The weather stripping rails on the front fenders are rusted. Otherwise very good.

Windshield glass is good as is the frame and trim. All glass looks good.

Passenger side photo tells the story on the doors. Straight but rusted through at bottoms.

Targa top looks good. Targa rollbar is good with one small rust hole at base. Still have most of the targa bar trim and pads.

1.7L 4 with tailshifter 5 speed transaxle. I have not tried to run the 1.7. It was converted to carburetors and is missing one carb.

Has all suspension, steering and 4 wheel disk brake parts.

Has late '70s Toyota Supra aluminum rims.

I junked the rusted front and rear deck lids. Current list of sold parts near end of this thread.

Will sell part or whole. I'll take detailed photos of any part you want. Car is in Junction City, Oregon.

The car has both parts of both original passenger and driver belts. They are ROUGH, especially the buckle side. The release levers do move freely. The shoulder harness side is better but still has rust spots on the chrome bits. The shoulder belts still have the black plastic covers for the top brackets. Those are very good.

$10 plus shipping for all four belts, two plastic covers and original mounting hardware.

The front and rear bumpers, fog lights, front valance, seat belts, and tail lights sold today. The front turn signals had already sold along with the door handles.

I removed the headlight and motor assemblies today. The headlight assemblies are complete and undamaged. Both motors work.

This car still has all of it's window glass in very good condition.

Interior of car is complete but had some exposure to the elements. Upholstery is wasted but things like seat frames and tracks are good. There are lots of good bits in the dash which is still original and complete. Dash pad has cracks but I've seen worse in nice sunbelt cars.

The car still has all of it's suspension, steering and 4 wheel disk brake parts.

These parts are still available.
The driver's mirror is a nice piece, a period German Talbot & Co. It's general condition is really good. The mirror is gone from the bezel. The bezel is not damaged, it's perfectly round, so I think a replacement mirror is simple enough. $15. Shipping $8 on this piece.









The sail trim is in good shape. $20. plus shipping



The windshield trim is good overall. One corner "L" had been damaged in a previous windshield replacement. It's straight now but looks straightened. The right upper trim piece has a couple of small nicks in it's edge. That's about it. $25 for all 6 parts. Due to the odd size and fragility of these parts they need to be shipped separately. Shipping is $8 for each of the 2 boxes.

This buyer is not responding to my messages. These parts are still for sale.

The cost of new cardboard has been an issue so I've sourced used appliance boxes and I'm building free packaging for all of these trim pieces.
If someone wants a body clip or major mechanical part I'll package and ship as economically as possible.
