Thumbs down AA's "sale"

I noticed that AA's "sale" appears to be a bit sneaky. The prices in the catalog are significantly lower than the prices on the website so after applying a 20% discount you get about $8 to $10 off big ticket items that would have been $60 to $80 if the catalog prices were used. I randomly compared some items that ended up more than twice the cost of the catalog price even after the discount was applied.

So, why didn't you call and order the parts from them. You don't have to order on line.

What's "sneaky" and as I expressed to them, borderline unfair trade practice, is the fact that they promote downloading the catalog to order from, yet I found out IT is 2 years old and so are the prices. So 30% off of the new prices, on some things is more like a 10-15% off the old prices. Found this out as I placed a nice little order with them last week (first time buyer from them). I got the 30% and a little better break on a couple of expensive parts that where quite a bit more these days than 2 years ago.
I was told that they just haven't had time to update .....yada yada. I told the individual that, that was a load of crap. You run a business, promote a catalog and subsequent sale, you better be willing to sell at the advertised price, 2 year old price or not. I still got a lot of what I needed, from one source and I can move on to my resto now.

I would say just be careful when ordering. They are nice enough people, but the original order taker seemed clueless about everything. The second individual (who I think was high up the companies food chain) was very nice, knowledgeable and I think took what I had to say about their practices, seriously (I hope anyway). Just make sure to check what you order before you pay for it and make sure they spell everything out for you first.

30% was still a good savings none the less, and its always better than full price, so.....

AA "sale"

When you are given "reasons" for things being other that what a reasonable person would presume from the stated facts, it always draws me to the conclusion that my intelligence is being insulted. Walks like a duck , quacks like a duck................. yada yada yada .
