Refinished Fuchs Set (5) -- What are they worth?

A couple of years ago I had five factory 914-4 Fuchs wheels completely refinished (i.e. properly repainted on the inside, scratches from removing the center caps were fixed, etc.) at Wheel Collision Center in PA (www.wheelcollision.com, they advertise in Autoweek, etc.).

They were painted a single color (German "wheel silver" -- whatever), so they don't look like the originals with the polished surfaces. They sure look a whole lot better (IMHO) than a set of original wheels in the usual condition.

Anyway, I never mounted any tires on them, they've just been sitting in my garage in boxes.

What are they worth?

It looks like I'm gonna sell both of my '74 914s (NorCal area), and there's not much point in me holding onto these wheels.

Thanks,

I sold my (5) 2.0L Fuchs 400US$, w/o centercaps a while ago. They were in decent shape, but not concours. A few scratches here and there. but overall good.

You may expect up to 500US$ for them, maybe more. The centercaps alone worth their share. But beware that some may be looking for «stock» appearence, so for them your set worth less than originals.

Good luck!

Thanks -- I have 4 NIB center caps, too.

And your comment on the non-stock appearance (it's not by very much -- the wheels have the same finish all over, instead of the mixed polished and painted surfaces of the originals) are right on.
