Not mine... 3 liter 914 for Sale

Porsche : 914 Porsche : 914 | eBay

1976 Porsche 914 fully race-prepared 3.0 litre, approx. 275-300 hp Before you read any further? It is CRITICAL that you understand that this is NOT the "typical" eBay auction... ie; there are some "weird" stipulations in/on/with this auction, and IF you bid, you AUTOMATICALLY agree to these terms (along with the normal eBay auction terms).

These terms are just as legally binding as most of the eBay auction terms. The winning bidder on this car will be a) someone who is GOING to aggressively race this car in wheel to wheel road racing (to include autocrossing), or, one of the VERY FEW people who know how to manage this kind of car on the street as a "daily driver". This Porsche 914 has a BRAND NEW (zero hours, zero miles) nearly $8000 motor hand-built by Bernie Bergmann, inside of it. It is nearly 3 liters, about 11:1 compression and features solid lifters, a 911 fan, blower, doghouse assembly and ultra-high-end everything else.

This car will NEVER pass ANY emissions. In any State, in the US. This car is not for sale nor export to any other country. This is a race car. This car will not like to idle for long, nor will it like traffic. If you have any experience with Lancia or Ferrari or Lamborghini or any of the other Italian trash, you will know what I mean.

The first photo is EXACTLY what this engine looks like, except, this motor was accented in Porsche 917 "Baby Blue". It features huge Kadron carbs on a single big linkage, synchronized. No part of the linkage nor the carbs are being sold separately. Details on the car: The body had nearly $4000 spent on it to have all serious rust and cancer removed or irradiccated. Anywhere where "serious" rust or Bondo was found, real steel was cut in, welded in, ground in, integrated, and smoothed.

The Targa Top is literally 100%. The factory Fuchs wheels look okay? But, it's academic, considering you will need MUCH fatter wheels (and tires). These tires are DONE. They are barely qualified to hold the car up. In fact, the only reason I leave them on the car now? Is to keep the wheels from touching cement.

The interior on this car is completely missing. There are two seats, a center console, and a pedal cluster? But, please refer to photos. This car's interior is UGLY (read: race serious).

The transmission is factory, and in fact, has matching numbers for the car. This is ALSO academic. There is NO WAY this tranny will/would hold up to this motor for even mild street use? Let alone racing. I would recommend a built race unit, or, a Vanagon 3 speed auto (neutered for 3 speed manual with that torque converter).

The body/paint job, as you can see via the photos is a super dark indigo with rowdy white racing stripe.

Pay attention, here. I really hope you are. The highest bidder might NOT be the winning bidder on this car! It is possible that the second or third highest bidder might easily convince me via email that they WILL finish this car, and race it, or that they ARE qualified to drive it on the street.

I am disinterested in this car wasting away. This can happen, and, don't **** bid unless you understand the whole thing.

Super. Thank you, and, Happy 2012!
