For Sale: Rebuilt Side Shifter and 914/6 Tail shifter

Side shifter 901

All sliders cleaned up. All Dog teeth in good to excellent condition. All Synchrobands removed, inspected and changed if needed. All seals and gaskets replaced. All gears cleaned and inspected. Intermediate plate pinion bearing replaced. Differential cleaned and inspected. Includes speedo drive, clutch fork, clutch pulley. Gearing is factory standard 914/4.

Ready to install $500 + shipping. Or you pickup in San Diego.

Tail shift 901 for 914/6

Also have a rebuilt original 914/6 tail shifter. It includes the drilled intermediate plate with the rod for the 911 throttle cable. Comes with a clutch cable pulley, and clutch fork and speedo drive. All seals replaced. All sliders in good to excellent condition. All Dog teeth in good to excellent condition (1st and 2nd replaced). All Synchrobands removed, inspected and changed if needed. All gears cleaned and inspected. Differential cleaned and inspected. I have the shift forks and shifter arm to convert this into a side shifter, if you want. Gearing is factory 914/6, which is better set up for the 6 cylinder engine. Perfect for a 6 conversion.

Ready to install as a Tail shifter $1000 + shipping.
Converted to side shifter $1250 + shipping.

Note: This tail shift 914/6 and the tail shift 914/4 are different!

Interior pictures available for both transmissions, upon request.

Used 914 starter: $50

Tranny parts: If you need em' I've probably got one. Good used sliders and dog teeth, Tail shifter parts, End covers, intermediate plate, pinion and main shafts (Sold with required matching gears), Shift forks, Clutch pulley assembly, Matched gears, speedo drives.

Uh. Which shift rod? Internal or external. Internals including the one that goes through the tail housing, yes. The external one, I think I do. I will have to look tomorrow night.

Would you consider replacing my synchros (1st & 2nd) for a reasonable fee? I'm guessing you've got the most 901 tranny rebuilding experience I've ever encountered. Are them durn things to heavy to ship?

I usually use Forward Air ( www.forwardair.com ) and it runs about $65-75 each way, but that was from San Diego. I think they have a $40 minimum charge. Shipping weight with a pallet is 105 lbs.

Sure. I was doing an exchange business, but I sold my cores recently before my move to Houston. Price would be the same, $750 plus shipping and I use my used parts. Or $500 plus parts for new parts and I'll only change what is needed and send you your old parts back.
