901 shifter and Bonus Knob
For sale is a nice early shifter. Works smoothly as it should. No rust.
Includes rubber base housing. Bonus 917 "style" balsawood shift knob*. Knob fits snug, however a a dab of glue is likely a good long term idea. *disclaimer for all the balsa wood police. It is not original or a reproduction. It is a reproduction* of a picture of a balsawood shift knob that the factory made 40+ years ago from some sort of wood that may or may not have been balsa or birch or something else they had in the factory. It may or may not be the 'right' size, but size is subjective to your hand size as it was rumored they had different sizes based on race car drivers hand size. It is clear urethane from Minwax so it may or may not "change-color" in 40+ years when you may or may not be dead. It is not an attempt to reproduce to a "t" something that they made 20-30 of 40+ ago, but a clone/tribute/pay homage to something cool. Price for 901 Shifter with rubber collar and Blasa wood knob = $165. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Bump for a great deal!
I've purchased one of these shift knobs from this seller and am very pleased with the quality. I currently have an original style 917 knob in my Carrera which is raw finished. The knob I purchased from this seller is hand made and clear coated, while it doesn't look like my other knob, it does go well in more refined interiors. It would also go well in most other applications (hotrods, vintage mustangs etc...) ![]() |
