Remove Prop. Valve or NO??
Hello,
I just added a 19mm master cylinder, New Pagid Blue pads, and Flushed the system and renewed with ATE SuperBlue.. I have bought a brake Tee and am wondering whether I should replace the prop. valve or not... I read a tech article that gave me the impression I should not fuss with it... Has anyone had a dangerous experience after removing the valve?? How big of a difference does it really make removed?? Thanks, Ron

Ask the moderator to move this post over to the 914 tech forum and, while he's at it, (DD) will tell you that if you don't change your front calipers in favor of bigger ones, leave the valve.

Zeke
Sorry about that...
Anyway I just installed the 19mm mastercylinder and bled the lines 3 times at each caliepr and now have a rock solid pedal and can freely lock the wheels under 30 mph...I am quite satisfied with leaving the prop. valve... I am going to switch the pads to Pagid sports but other than that I am leaving the system unchanged as far as calipers go!! Thanks, Ron

tee or no
firsthand experience: if you put in the T the car will lock up front with stock frt calipers, VERY dicy on a wet curve! almost 911-like tail happy
but you can use T if convert to BMW calipers & it is near perfect balance; i've done it both ways |
