parting 75 914 1.8
I have decided to part my 914. I don't want to do the structural rust repair. Thanks to all who offered advice, parts, etc. I've concluded it could be done, but not by me. If someone wants to buy it and fix it, shoot me an email. Clear title, I believe I am the third owner. Original owners manual and sales literature. Odometer and title agree that the car has under 51k original miles.
Aside from the quarters and floors, the car is very very nice and the black interior is nearly perfect. Silver body panels in great shape (doors, hood/trunk lids, fenders). Everything works, including the headlamps, factory fog lamps, and all other lights. The car is running and driving right now. It starts right up and idles, no smoke. Smooth power. No stumbling. Injection is still on the car. It's on steel wheels which i will keep because I want it to roll until I cut it up in pieces. The glass, lenses, chrome trim, seats, dash, gauges, center console w/gauges, etc. are all great. The interior looks like a relatively new car. Even the carpet is clean. If someone was looking for 'everything' you'd need to make a running car this is it. All you'd need is a rust free chassis and time. I also have some spare parts I've assembled (some through Pelicanites): 1. new right side engine shelf 2. NOS lower firewall 3. rear bilsteins and a couple sets of springs (don't know rates but stiffer than stock-I purchased them used) 4. shifter bushings (email for part numbers) Please post inquiries here. Thanks, David

I also have a '75 1.8 and need a sound motor. If you'd rather sell the whole motor with F.I. minus the tranny, that would be great. I would be removing my motor and re-using the tin and accesories, so I really only need the long block and the right engine shelf you mentioned. My motor still has an A/C compressor hangin on it and I want to get rid of this dead weight. I also would not need the exchangers or other ducting, either. Please let me know a price. I live about three and a half hours to the east, I have a pick up truck and I can pick it up. Thanks!!

looks like the longblock and new engine shelf are spoken for. Injection is not sold and will be boxed up for sale.

Dave, are you still parting out the 914? If so, do you still have the doors and both the front and rear hood? How much for all and individually?
Thanks Pete |

Pete,
There is a person interested in the whole car. I'll be in touch if it falls through. Where are you located, by the way. Shipping would be a pain for those parts.

Hi Dave,
I live in Md., not far from York Pa., so I would pick them up. Do you Know the distance from York to you? I have all of these items, but they all need work, esp. the doors. They are what I am interested in most. Please let me know what happens. Thanks Pete |

Is the car bent? Does the pass. door open? Is the gap between rear of pass. door and body less than it should be? What is the extent of the rust? Price for car verses previously mentioned items? Possibly interested, but I already have three of these things. Pete
