1971 Porsche 914. We are the third owner, and the "lore" (from the second owner) is that it sat on blocks under a tarp in a Northern California barn from the mid-70s for 25+ years, so that it has only 23,500 miles. That may or may not be the true mileage, but likely is. It originally was light green, but we've cleaned up the body and repainted it metallic silver. (There was some minor damage to the right rear fender area at some point that was repaired adequately.) It has a new rear lower panel and also new side rocker panels that have not yet been installed. A new floor pan reinforcement was added when the interior was redone (see below). Oil leakage (from the gear box only) is very minimal. We've kept it garaged.
Mechanically, the 1.7 liter engine is strong. We've put in a new clutch, gearbox (used), upgraded exhaust system, tie rods, springs, upgraded shocks, battery box, brakes and tires. It has nice mag wheels. It was recently tuned and drives very nicely for its age.
The car has all new black leatherette interior upholstery, new roof liner, dash cover, steering wheel cover and floor mats, a good new CD/am/fm radio and new speakers. The only feature that isn't working is the vent blower, which may need to be replaced. We've replaced most of the rubber seals around the roof and doors (including the main windshield seal). The only "problem" is the window cranks, which are typically cranky for this vintage. In all, it is a very sharp looking car inside and out that drives very nicely. Asking price is $4850. Contact
