Pic request: Boxster Wheels on a 944

Im almost to the point of needing new tires on my 89 S2. Ive decided to go with a new set of 17' wheels and tires instead of just buying new tires for the factory 16' 7 spoke wheels. Im trying to decide between a set of cup or twist wheels from wheelenhancement.com, or a set of Boxster wheels out of Panorama.

Ive been able to find on car pics of the 17' cup and twist wheels, but I have not been able to find any pics of any cars with the Boxster wheels.

Can anybody help me out with some pics of a 944 with the Boxster wheels? Any reason why I shouldnt use the Boxster wheels?

Any help is appreciated

What do you mean by "Boxster wheels?" There are many different types, some even used on 911's as well.

Ive got 993/Boxster Cup II's mounted on mine - click link in sig.

Thanks guys. Those are the two styles I am looking at. Great looking cars, BTW.

The Boxster rims I was asking about were the ones like on Sam Grants 951.

Are the Boxster rims a direct bolt on for a later 944?

Thanks again.

Sam,

You've got quite a beauty...love the wheels and the (custom?) front spoiler.

The factory wheels will bolt onto a later car. I use 1" spacers on all four corners to run factory wheels rather than aftermarket because mines an 86 model. Thanks for the nice comments guys! The front spoiler is an AIR splitter. (American International Racing) Those pics were right after it got resprayed, so yea It looks alot better than it used to!

That is a beautiful 951. It looks brand new. You are a lucky, lucky man. Maybe one day, my ride can look as good as yours.
Well done sir.

I have an 86. I would like to put a set of 17/7 front and 17/9 rear turbo twist wheels on my 951. Will I have any issues? Do I need any spacers? What tire size are you running?

I really appreciate your feedback.

Do a search. You need to know what offsets.

i have 17x7/9, 205/255 on my 86 951 with 220lb springs and 26mm torsion bars & koni sports & LSD; it pushes a little around town but it sticks like glue at mountain road speeds; never break the rears loose out of long corners.

I like Dantilla's wheels! I have to just say it, I don't like the twist wheels, not on the 944's anyways. I like the 993 Cup wheels a lot more... It has always bothered me that the twists don't go in the correct direction on the driver side... Or at least the same on both sides.

Does anyone have pics of a 944 (preferrably a Guards Red Turbo) with these wheels on it? I'm curious ............

These are 2001 Boxster rims (aka "crab claws") on my '87. I'm using 1/4" spacers on the front to get the right offset. The 7" wide front wheels are the same weight as my 15" phone dials, and the 8.5" wide rear wheels are only 2 lbs. heavier per wheel:
