Passenger door locked.

After resetting my window regulator on the passenger door (one was not in the channel) I closed the door and it was good until I locked the door. It now won't open no matter what I do. I recently replaced the door latch linkages and they work great. Inside I disconnected the power door link (the white plastic one) and something is still jammed disabling the locking linkage. I tried the power lock switch, keys in both doors with no help. I also tried manipulating the lock linkage with a flat piece of steel stock but it's still jammed. I'm hoping anyone out there may have a solution to getting my door unlocked as I have run out of ideas. Help!

Take the door card off the driver door to look at the mechanism to figure out what you have to do to unlock the door, then do those actions to the passenger door. (P.S. Leave the door card off until you have the passenger door unlocked, it would be a real pain to have both doors unable to be opened...)

I bought a spare door latch mechanism for reference, and tore a large access hole in the door card I just spent three more days to no avail. I can't seem to get the door to unlatch. The anti-theft panel inside the door prevents me from getting access to the links from the outer door handle to help me fix this thing.

This happened to me yesterday. I was able to open the door by disconnecting the linkage between the outside door trigger and the door latch - I'm talking about the little dark plastic piece that you can screw/unscrew. With the door closed, I was able to remove enough of the door card to access the latch. It's not easy removing that plastic piece, but it's possible, and this might be your only option.

It seems like if the plastic piece is adjusted too far out it will enable you to open the door nicely, but somehow prevents the door from unlocking. I guess the armature on the latch to which it's attached isn't able to fully retract? I don't fully understand how it works but thought it was related to my inner latch being pretty worn and bent. But you say you replaced your latches already - with new ones?

If it were my car, the next thing I would try would be a dremel tool with a cutoff wheel to cut away enough of the anti-theft panel to directly access the latch assembly.

That anti-theft piece I thought was part of the rear window channel. Peel up the weather stripping around the rear bottom of the window and there should be a 6mm nut; there's one on the bottom of the door too.

Undo those and the channel should come out. This only works on late cars, however.

Maybe you can't get to the bottom one, but you may be able to bend it out of the way.

I know about the channel but I have no access to the small bottom bolt. I'm afraid to start bending things around there because I'd likely break the window, too.

These cars are tricky. I had a doped up neighbor take out my drivers side door in his bronco, I purchased another one, but they sold me an incomplete door. I waited for all the parts. I had a buddy that is a genus pull the whole door off and rebuild it in my garage. He showed me the plastic lock mechanism parts and I was shocked. I know if somebody has ham hands, they will funk up this door. We put it together and got it working, repainted it and it works great. now my sun roof wont close. Its a German curse for mericans not helping out germany during the wars. LOL!!!

Since this is a later car with the anti-theft bracket I wonder if a Locksmith has a clue to getting this door open.

I think you are your only hope. Unless you know a really talented thief.

Removed the outer door handle (in pieces) to get access to the other mechanisms that I couldn't get access to. So far the door is still stuck. I've been spraying degreaser into every mechanism I can get to so much so it's coming out the bottom of the door. I keep exercising everything and so far I haven't had any success.

Holy cow! Try pulling up on the threaded rod linkage that's connected to the latch with the black plastic socket. Moving that latch armature upward may allow you to manually unlock the door.

I'll try that tomorrow. Nothing else has worked. Thing is, the mechanism for the lock appears to be unlocked.

It's open....finally, after all my efforts, I found a combination of manipulations that got the door open. It was pushing down on the link for the outside door opener combined with holding the lock latch fully unlocked and smacking the door open latch with a small tool {hammer} that finally unlatched the door. Final analysis is the lubricant in the outer door latch was gummed up and the trigger mechanism wouldn't release. Anyhow, it's open and I have all the replacement parts to move on. YAHOO!

That's great news. Your resolve to not give up was rewarded.
