where is the oil pressure relief valve?

i just got back from 10 days of vacation and as i was driving my car home i was really enjoying myself... then i hit 5 mph hour traffic for 2 hours and realized that my oil pressure is lower than it should be.
i think this is why its been running hot. if its not the oil pressure relief vavle is there anything in the system that could cause low pressure? clogged filter?
please dont say i need an oil pump.

Seeing as it has been running hotter and now you are having low oil press. problems, check if you have any oil/foam (milkshake looking) stuff in your coolant resevoir. If so it is cooler seal time.

The seals will need replaced when doing the OPV anyway. You probably have the 3 piece valve. Get the updated 1 pc valve to replace the one you have. The seals are already updated in the kit. Use tool 9215 OPV alignment guide to install the OPV. This can be done with out the tool however if it isn't in correctly it will cause poor pressure readings. May as well get a new oil sender as well. It mounts right on the cooler housing and are famous for leaking etc. Flush out the system well to rid the coolant of any residual oil. Oil in the coolant destroys the hoses over time. Sman

the oil cooler seals is a 2 way street isnt it? i should be able to see coolant on the dipstick as well as oil in the resevoir shouldt i? i am certain there is not coolant on the dipstick but my resevoir is old and yellowish so its not horribly obvious whether there is oil in it.
also, where does the hose that attaches to the resevoir cap attach? its just dangling.

I think it slides into the gaps that in your firewall next to the strut. I'm not sure, but I think there is a possibility of one way leakage (water system under @12 psi? oil under less)
