Wind shield wiper control question

1 have owned 3 924's over the past 20 years. One thing that keeps popping up is that the wiper control eventually "flips" out and causes the wipers to move even when not turned on. Is there some sort of "fix" for this or do I need to spend 70 dollars every time this happens? Any answers appreciated.
Thanks
Gordon

This can be caused by a bad ground between the wiper switch and the body. The switch has one screw that has a copper ground ring on the backside. I usually make up a wire to attach to this screw and run it through the column and then to a body ground.
