ok i was wondering if all models of 924 and 944 axles are interchangable if the car has a manual trans? i know that the auto axles won't interchange. i am pretty sure the stub axles are all the same but not so sure about the axles and cv joints. i don't have a set of each so i can't compare. any help is much appreciated!
thanks scottie L |

THe auto trans axles are different lengths, although the CV joint itself is the same as for the manual transmission axles. I am fairly certain there is no difference year to year on the CV joints since I have mixed and matched a number of times with absolutely no problem. Just remember the drill..get the proper sized cheesehead tool to fit the bolts, make certain the cavities in those bolts are cleaned and the tool is well seated prior to removing; those stinkers can be stripped otherwise and then it is vise wrench time.
