did I bend some valves; help please
While removing camshaft sprocket accidently moved cam counter-clock-wise appx 1" or 10 deg off of TDC.
*&^%! Does anybody think I bent valves? Would a post- assembly compression check verify if I did or didn't? If bent, what indications would I see when hand-rotating engine and then starting. One second of day-dreaming and pow.... Thanks

Not Likely if you didn't turn it over. If you turned her over probably but, you would have heard it.
Re-align sprocket to mark. Flywheel to mark, and balance shafts to marks and tighten belts. Turn over by hand at the crank with plugs removed several times and check timing marks again. last piece for iinsurance purposes is to comp. check each cylinder. Rick

thanks guys, I feel better. All belts and sprockets were off with exception of cam sprocket. I was in process of removing it. Flywheel was locked but cam belt removed
Didn't read procedure throughly enough so was trying to remove by turning retaining collar with a 32mm socket on a 24" breaker bar. duh Then I spaced off the fact that no cam belt in place; so no locking action on camshaft. double duh. After it moved about 1" off of TDC mark, I woke up and rotated it back. Don't recall any resistance or crunching/rending noises. Gave it a twist but stopped as soon as I noticed movement. So hoping valvetrain is stronger than my arm! I'll be sweating bullets until I reassemble & do comp check. thanks again
