I hate to rain on your parade but although exciting to look out, your finish was unnecesarily dangerous. There is a reason for the finish set up the way it was. You need to slow down after you go through the lights. I've been autocrossing for over 3 years and have seen a few accidents happen. I saw an unfortunate one where a guy stuffed his 1999 Camaro SS into a light pole. How? He jumped on the throttle hard after going through the lights, fishtailed for 45 feet trying to regain control. Stopped with the light pole. At any of the big events you will get a talking to from a safety steward for this kind of driving. Let's have fun guys, but be safe!!

Well, I can see your point of view, and I won't defend myself, as you are right. (and I myself am against speeding in the pits/etc.)
But I will say two things, first it's not as bad as it looks, by the last picture, I was going around 10 mph. Secondly, an auto-x course is IMO by far one of the safest places to have fun with your car, and explore it's limits. Ahmet ------------------ It's all the driver... |
