Hey, I have an electrical issue. I was just driving my 85.5 NA and was accelerating from a stop light and the car just died. I went to try and start it and the engine will turn, but it won't start. Also strange is that when the key is in the on position none of the instrumentation turns on and there's no lights. Everything else (radio, windows, A/C) works. Any ideas? Also, the car's Hofco alarm system stopped working about a week ago. Could this have something to do with it? Thanks.

Check out the recent thread about my alarm/dme problem. It sounds a lot like what happened to you...

Just for resolution's sake, I fixed the problem. It was the alarm system. It's equipped with an engine shut off and since it was acting up, it decided to kill my engine while I was driving. No fun, but I traced the issue back to a wire in the driver footwell. Just cleaned the connection up, tightened it a bit and the car started and my alarm works again. All is happy in the world.

What connection specifically? I have a problem just like that. I hit a bump just right and the car shuts off. I turn the key all the way off and reset the alarm, the alram horn then sounds with a chirp and the car restarts. Could you possibly take a digital pic of this wire?
