Porsche vs. Deer, 944=1, Deer=0.
Well, I've been wanting to do the Turbo look conversion to the front of my car..... But I didn't want to have to start that project this way.
![]() ![]() The upper core support still appears straight, and looking at it from the top, there doesn't appear to be any frame damage. So maybe the worst part of it was sustained at the bumper shock mounts, aside from the cosmetics that is. I still need to get under the car and take a peak at what happened there. I kinda find it a testiment to the build quality of these old cars, that was a 72mph hit from about a 75lb Doe.

Did you take her home? Could be a tasty meal(s).
Other than the fresh meat opportunity, sorry about the car. It is very possible that the bumper shock mounts are still good. You probably only need new bumper shocks. Good luck on your new conversion project.

Screw the tag! That deer committed suicide!
Some park ranger is having a wonderful Thanksgiving right now.

Poor car! I hope no damage was done! What do these reckless deer think they're doing these days! Speeding along in front of helpless 944s!
I say get the deer processed ... venison jerky is a tasty treat!

I wouldn't suggest crossing the street in front of a 72mph 944, it doesn't leave much left over once it gets done with it's share.

The car never acted up, or missed a beat. It does have a slight pull to the right now though, I figure it could of bent the control arm, them things are flimsy anyways. Wednesday I'll get some damage estimates on it. I'm hoping to get insurance to pay for most of my turbo-look conversion.

Could have at least picked up the hind quarters for a couple of rump roasts.
Darn!

I always fear that. My dad's 356 speedster met its demise at the business end of a buck...

Deer kill more people in the USA than any other animal (other than man, of course). I live in the country and if you drive from dusk to dawn the 55mph speed limit is not just because of other auto traffic, it's because of the deer, cows, horses, goats...... Actually, I rarely drive my 944 at night because of this. Some summer nights we sit on my neighbors porch and watch the city people do the 90 degree curves at 65mph at night. Isn't an accident when they go splat. As for daytime, I am still trying to beat my 79mph around those curves. I think if my wife hangs out the window a little I can do it. Better wait til she has a little brew before asking, though.
