Guinness is cool. it's like drinking a loaf of rye bread
|
Guiness just isn't for me... when I drink, it is usually to ACCOMPANY a meal; I don't want the drink TO BE the meal :)
Beer Works is awesome... ever try the blueberry beer? They actually put 10 or so blueberries in each glass, and those things rise and fall the whole time that there's beer in the glass. Sounds gross, but tastes really good! |
Guinness is a stout beer like Newcastle Brown Ale or Murphys and just the ticket to refresh a bloke who's going for the long haul piss up without bloating him out. My personal intoxicant of choice. I'll admit it's an acquired taste - proper man's drink. :)
Most European pale 'beer's aren't beer - they're lagers. Bit gassy (and chemical tasting) for my taste - although Hoegaarden (Belgian) is a refreshing exception (brewed from wheat rather than barley - like German beer). Many a weekend has disappeared from memory on this stuff and I heartilly recommend it. |
I agree with you on that one Dark Skies...Newcastle happens to be my beer of choice...though sometimes difficult to find in Philly
CJ, I had the blueberry beer one time when I was in Boston, it was quite refreshing on a hot summer day...too bad the Sox lost that day |
I nominate this thread (along with the "typical life of a pelican thread" thread) for the furthest, and most persitant, diversion from the thread's topic. Excellent tactic to avoid being sent to OT purgatory.
By the way, did Juice ever relent and accept that the '81 GTP is based on the 924, not the 944? |
"By the way, did Juice ever relent and accept that the '81 GTP is based on the 924, not the 944?"
I remember reading somewhere (excellence?) that the GTP was considered by Porsche to be the first production 944. Since LeMans rules states that all models in that class must be based on a pre-existing production model, Porsche lied a bit and said that the GTP was a 924-derivative, but now admit that it was definitely a 944. This isn't the only time Porsche lied. In the 936 era, Porsche only built 4 of these cars for the factory race team, and said rather adamantly that they would not be for sale to privateers. Well, Joest left the Porsche factory fold and created his own racing company. To get him started, Porsche loaned him the 5th 936 - only they lied and claimed that it was a heavily modified 908/30 that was built to resemble a 936, in order not to piss off the other privateers. Porsche now admits this lie. How's that for bringing the thread back on-topic? :D |
