I just installed 'Eclipse' metric speakers in the front of my 1989 944. Perfect fit and sound!

What is the model number of the speakers that fit? I tried some Eclipse 4x6's a few months back at a local car stereo place, and I couldn't get them mounted without modification.

Leigh,
The model number of the Eclpise speakers I got are 8463E. As I said, they are a perfect fit. No modifications and/or spacers needed. They are costly (I paid $89 for the pair) but the sound is awesome in my opinion. I have a new (2000) Blaupunkt Munchen stereo in my car. Steve |

Costly? What kind of price are you usually used to paying for good speakers? -MAS |

I agree with MAS, those are not too costly for quality speakers. A friend of mine paid 350 for a pair, they were bigger, 5" circular but still, 89 is not a bad pricve at all if the sound is good.
Can they handle power or do you run it off the stock setup? |

As stated, I am using a Blaupunkt Munchen 160 watts (40 x 4). The Eclipse handles the power great.
