Ain't war a b***h! These people are fortunate that there are not a lot of innocent people getting hurt or killed in this campaign. Remember and never forget guys of all those that were killed in the WTC towers just 1 month ago today.
My opinion, the Tali boys and Bin Laden will get what they freakin deserve! Brock 86 951 Zermatt/burgundy Hospital Corpsman 2nd class FMF 2nd Recon Battalion,(Swift, Silent, Deadly) Charlie Co. 1995-1998 I did my time and know the guys that are watching and waiting! |

I think that what you guys are saying is cruel and callous. For all we know this could be the car of a simple man, doing a lowly job to support the family he cares for. He probably isn't too amused with a missile landing in the bed of his pickup. I would hate to get up tomorrow and find one through my rear hatch.
-Tony PS: I understand that this could also be argued the other way around, and it could be Bin Laden's Toyota you're all laughing at. Either way, we should not infer that all Afghanistan's are evil, and deserve what's going on; It's not right. |

You're right man. We should be more sensitive to the Afghanis.....give me a break.
This campaign is against terror, so sorry, the rules are flushed. If innocent people die then so be it. But again, unlike these yo yo's that is not our intention is it? PS Dont you think that all the poor Americans that lost their lives were not simple folk trying to earn a living? Think again. Support your government...they are providing your freedom! |

To Quote brock:
"This campaign is against terror..." ------------------------------------------------ So we solve the terrorism problem by becoming terrorists ourselves? We are supposed to be a nation that can transcend these barbaric ways, yet when in the face of uncertainty we resort to violence. Do I feel bad for those Americans that lost their live, of course, but I also feel equally bad for those that lost their lives in Afghanistan (the taliban aside). I will not support a government that provides my freedom at the price of others' freedom. -Tony |

I understand to an extent what you are saying but again, this not a war that you can send politicians in to buy our problems away! This is dealing with the most powerful threat to us all....faith. These people believe in their cause more than most Americans believe in our cause to defend against it! They have the ultimate power ...to die without hesitation to accomplish their mission! In this case no amount of money, negotiations, or reasoning will solve the problem. Saddam is not what he used to be because we thumped his **s and his military! Again you are right and I feel that I am right(and so does the Bush adm. and the Joint Chiefs!)
Total debilitation of the Taliband and Bin Laden is the only successful way to resolve or at least reduce the terror in this world! (unfortunately) Brock |

I'm going to vent...
The only reasn why each and every one of us enjoys the high standards of living we do is because of the United States' international military power. Sad but true - might is always right. We reap the benefits of our strong military even when we do the smallest things such as drink clean water (which we still have). If we were weak and didn't fight for every inch of land in which we occupy, somebody else would. Maybe Bin Laden? No thanks to being a peace loving hippie right now. Saying that we should not take action in the current situation to combat the force which threatens our free society is absolutely absurd. I want my children to feel safe, recieve a quality education and grow up to raise similar children that live full lives. Having a society stuck in the middle ages such as the majority of Afganistan is sickening. No thanks - I won't let Bin Laden turn my world upside down. I'd like my women educated and my children fed! Give me a break! Erick |

If they don't want to get bombed, they should stage a revolution. Get rid of the Taliban, hand over Bin Laden, keep their Toyotas.

I agree with some of you that it is sad that innocents are dying. HOWEVER, this is just an unfortunate byproduct of action that must be taken. Very few innocent people have died thus far in these strikes and the military definately isn't killing them on purpose. People die in wars, and this war will be no exception. Some say we should turn the other cheek. While I believe this can be done on an individual basis, nations cannot follow that ideology.
If you are not supporting your freedom through direct military involvement, support it through your words and actions. Dave |

"I hope that the vehicle was not a UN truck."
Yes, it was the UN truck. The 4 people who were killed in this building were landmine defusers employed by the UN to help de-mine the area (after the Russian conflict from a decade ago). -MAS [This message has been edited by MAS (edited 10-11-2001).] |
