How much is an engineless 951 worth?

Bought an '87 951 w/siezed engine from Gerber Motorsports (Britwrench's shop). They will be transfering my '86 engine & turbo into the 87.

This will mean I don't have to do the bodywork/paint the front end on the '86 needs. It also means I'll have a car without an engine. Here are the highlights on the black '86 parts:

7 & 8's 951 Fuchs, blackened, AVS Sport tires, 5/10
Adj. Koni Yellows all around, less than 5k miles
stock tranny, non-lsd, shifts smooth
Newish rotors, brake components good
All glass except windshield good
GT Racing fiberglass hood-needs paint
GT Racing vented nose panel-ditto
GT Racing front bumper cover-ditto
clear title

I know I could part it out for more than selling it whole, but there's a lot of hassle. So how much do you think it's worth as a whole? Thanks!

I would love to pick it up from you but you are to far away. One question. How did the GT racing panels fit? Did you have to tweek them in order for them to line up?

Less than 1.5K and maybe not that much, sounds like it needs paint and the wheels arent in great shape. You can certainly make more parting it (I know you said you dont want to). I would guess you can make somewhere in the 6K range parting it, if you were closer I would buy it just to part it.

Yeah, really. The fiberglass GT Racing panels fit like those on a racecar, plus the prev owner's front end bump makes panel alignment a more time-intensive issue.

I have another project which will require spraying, no time for the 951, and this solution of engine swap will save me a lot of trouble.

You're Ronin??? What was Mark doing, not introducing us? I had no idea. Did you get some good pics today? Did they ever get that second Ferrari running?

The nose panel is a beautiful fiberglass white. But it's vented, you purists don't like that monkey business. Tomorrow at 2 at Gerber I'm meeting one of Mark's customers who heard I had a 951 that would soon be without an engine. Apparently his racing 951 had a bad mishap in which the body was bashed. Might be interested in my 951.

Which of your cars needs painting?

the 951

you know, I suppose that it doesn't occur to people to introduce themselves with their Pelican "alter egos" (probably a healthy thing!)

yeuppp. we did get the other Ferrari back up again. had to rescue Bill off the back stretch (btw. 3 and 4) when he ran out of fuel. the track marshall decided he had to push his weight around when we got back, saying that we should have just towed him back, as we were holding people up by taking too much time. little did the guy realize that it would have taken us much longer to hook him up and tow him back to the paddock (at an excruciatingly low speed) than the five minutes it took us to refuel the car, strap him back in, and send him on his merry way. guess there's just no pleasing some folks

sooo, how much does one of those "bastard" nosepanels go for?? not that I'm interested.....
