Plug-in engine management

Is there a devise available for the 944/951 over the counter that allow you to monitor your engine's performance. A plug and play type system? I am not technical enough to brave change timing, max RPM, fuel injector flow, I am just curious. I would be interested to see where in the power band that has the engine running lean and reprogram the chips to compensate. Things of that nature. I hear a lot on how a larger turbo, bigger injectors, MAF etc need to have custom chips and wonder, programming chips vs. engine management?

If I have confused anyone, sorry. I am confused myself.

Here are graphs on different 944 and their hp/torque curves

With regards to engine management, I would ask FR Wilk.

The piggyback route (SMT-6) allows you to massage the signals. It works great (using it right now). Not as in depth as a full stand alone but I guess you have to decide what you want in the end.... You can log all your runs..... adjust AF ratios and run again. VERY FUN! You can also adjust timing if you are adventurous.

Also John at vitesses has a complete monitor coming out.... it will be able to display sensor outputs in real time. COOL FACTOR = HIGH. It will be great for diagnosing problems....

Or better yet a Link system. It is pretty much the complete system. Will plug into all your existing harnesses... I believe it sells for 2200 ?

Or you can go SDS, Tec3 etc... many positive and negatives. The link is sitll your best bet if you are going stand alone...

Have fun....

I would love a fully programable engine management system It would be sweet but I havent found one for the 9 series cars yet, Mostr are made for HONDA and ****, Man the things that you could do with a fully programmable system and live data feeds.
