Suspension installation problems
I have ordered the 968 antisway bars for my '87 924S. Also I got Racer's Edge Delrin bushings. Two problems arose. First, the rubber bushings that were shipped with the swaybar (951.343.793.31) do not fit into the factory bracket. The 951 bushing is round, while the 924S factory bracket is round but with a flat side that bolts to the a-arm. The number on it is 73500 2 AHB, but I do not that that is a Porsche number. Do I have to get brackets from a 951 or a new bushing that will fit the 924 bracket?
Second, the Delrin bushings. These go in the middle of the antisway bar. They connet to the frame eventually via a small flat bar (poor design I feel, or questionable functionality). The probem is the factory 'bracket,' just a steel bar bent in a circle, is too small for the 30mm bushings. The new distance is over an inch between the boltholes. On the 23mm bushings they were able to touch. Any ideas to remedy these situations? Thanks. |

sounds like you need a mounting kit. Also I think the 951 and the 924S have different A-arms, so I dont think it will bolt in. My 87 924S has the sway bar bolted by to bolts into the A-arms, My A-arms are black steel, The Late 85 944 I have has the alloy A-arms and the sway bar is bolted to them with one bolt threw the A-arm... BIG Difference, Good luck
