It's an awesome new customization inspired by LazyOwner™.

Do a search for "928" and "Socks" in the archives. Look for a really long topic about a 928. Read, and laugh your ass off.

I resurrected this post just for you. It is really a must read.

Do a search on:

"Porsche of Mine"

"Pelican Parts Movie Head Wars"

and

"A Survey Of Porsche Owners"

Those were teh days I was wrenching by day, engineering by night, and living on coca-cola and nicotine.

Mama Juvie.. Caffeine and nicotine is what powers me.

Thanks for pointing out the finer threads again. LMAO!

jnkyrd944 05-20-2004 10:58 AM

I checked out- A Survey of Porsche Owners- which hit it right on the head, especially the groups divided between the

crowd that maintains the car to point of near obsession, even though the value of the car was exceeded long ago, and the crowd that firmly believes that the engineers didn’t know what they were doing and that several doctorates in engineering can be overcome by low-cost, bolt on performance modifications or quick DIY maintenance techniques
excellent observation, LOL is it possible i fit into both categories?

A Porsche of Mine was truely BBS Literature,

and i couldnt find "Pelican Parts Movie Head Wars"

lousailor 05-20-2004 03:02 PM

It should be illegal to laugh this much at work! Those were classic!

Brando 05-20-2004 04:12 PM

Can you link to those topics Juvy? I can't seem to find them. The archives gobbled them up or something...

ae1969 05-20-2004 04:33 PM

Forgot to mention overkill was a nice kid................ He is truly one of the all time characters of the 924/944 board.

His questions would always start so simple and then they would develop into wild WILD problems....

Here is another...... the infamous oil cooler dilemna. Starts innocently enough.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=101977

...and then you have the starter that spins the wrong way, the camshaft aligments, belt tensioning etc.etc.etc. it goes on and on! You have to give him credit he did get through it all...... even with all of us bashing on him...............

ae1969 05-20-2004 04:57 PM

Oh and this all began from ONE camshaft seal that needed to be replaced............

I dont know how many people followed his saga but it was quite entertaining...... In the begining I definitely shook my head but in the end I think most people began to admire his efforts.

He said he would do it.... and he did...........

TCMdocs944 05-20-2004 06:23 PM

He was one really resilient sucker wasn't he. I was also amazed at how well he took the abuse as well. Kinda hope he gets that dream 951.
