Help me figure this out.....My son's car has been sitting for several months and we could not get it to start. I finally got the time to pull the fuel injector rail off and spin the motor and observe which injectors were working. The first time I did this, only two worked so I swapped them around a few more times and I got three to work (the problem wasn't with the DME).
I took the bad injector and hooked up to a high pressure hose (with carb cleaner inside) and used a battery charger to "power" the injectors off/on. Since I had this jerry-rigging contraption operational, I cleaned the other three. During all of this, I never saw any trash or foul colored stuff coming out. I put everything back together and now all four injectors are working. What puzzles me is that I tried to clean them with carb cleaner earlier (just sprayed out of the can) and I never saw any trash. What's the deal????? Other than saving myself $50, what happened? BTW, It's RUNNING! Now I just need to find were the oil is leaking and fix the clip on the heater control box and we can enjoy this car, finally!

The old fuel varnished up the injector, sticking it, pressure, solvent and voltage popped the injector open again

Didn't you replace the injectors with after market units?
By the way you want to back flush the injectors to clear the screens on the inlets. Just a two foot hose filled with solvent and some shop air. The pressure will force the pintal open against the return spring.
