944S2 power flux
Recently my friends 1989 944S2 was loosing power while cruising. So I suggested it might be the throttle position switch.
He replaced it with a new one and the problem went away. Less than 1K miles later it is back. Any suggestions? Basically this... driving along on the highway and the car will fall back to as if your foot was off the throttle... then tap the pedal with your toe a couple of times and she comes back. Sounds like TPS to me. But suggestions ? Eric Eturbo924@yahoo.com

Hopefully he's not running a K&N filter, notorious for no addl power, added dirt, and oiling down the MAF systems and causing problems, sometimes in the hundreds of dollars.

I've had two KN's on my 32v Mercedes for 115K miles. No problem.
I've had a KN on my 944T for 55K miles, no problem. Both have MAF's. Just don't dump a quart of oil on it when servicing. If a little lubrication is good, more is not necessarily better. Some things are not for the ham fisted.
