Just about the only place that new guages can go.

i am probably building a little enclosure for that area with my new interior. It was for the mysterious optional center speaker that almost no one has.

There is quite a bit of space behind that little grill. Good place to mount an LCD....that is, if you want your car to scream "Break into me!"

the person travelling with me usually doubles as a cup holder at times.
if im driving alone I stick the cup between my thighs (ps: not a good idea if the cup contains hot coffee.)

Just say no.

Don't drink and drive!

It fits on a late dash without drilling holes. It has two clips on the back that are secured over one of the horizontal slots of the air vents.

On the late dash, the best fit I've found is the far left of the center vents, sorta over the digi clock.

Convenient for small coffees or soda cans, thats really about it IMO... The base isnt wide enough for anything larger, and the two little plastic clips dont seem like they can hold anything heavier.

I bought $9.95 cupholder from Target that is mounted on the center-vent....works well for me:

Is it me or does it look like your stick shift stands especially tall? What kind of steering wheel is that?
Clean looking interior!

I think that if it was supposed to have a cup holder it would have came with one, but that is just my personal opinion.

What I want to know is where did you get the piece of aluminum around the stick shift? I've got that crappy carpet piece and want aluminum there.

scheistermeiste 09-02-2004 12:40 PM

i know you can get the aluminum piece from thedriversseat.com. as for the cup holder i wouldnt be able to use it... my car doesnt have the armrest and came that way. good thing im short so i can just use the hump on the floor.

I bought one off of e bay that slides betwean the seat and the consol. If no one is in the other seat it works great, I love it.

gearhead290 09-02-2004 07:21 PM

You know...they do make cup holders that you can click onto your vents...

adida(r 944) 09-02-2004 08:17 PM

The aluminum piece you are referring is actually a carbon fiber insert. You can get replacement center-console carpet pieces from:

The steering wheel is a perforated leather MOMO-imitation steering wheel that I purchased on Ebay. It was $73.88 including shipping, but does not come with the Porsche emblem. Ebay seller goes by "arekbrooklyn".

DJ_YEN,
Yes, my gear shift lever does appear a little higher than usual. I made it 1/2" longer to make it suit my short legs, long upper frame.
