icu unit
is there any way of testing the icu unit as i have done some voltage tests at the coil and they seem wrong in that the voltage at terminal 1 is around 4 volts and the voltage at terminal 15 is 9.5 volts the haynes manual says that the icu unit is u/s if high volts at number 1 and battery u/s if low volts at 15 but it is a new battery
The car is a 1983 924

icu: Ignition control unit
Check terminal 4 of icu between it and ground - you should read battery voltage. Failing that, your coil or ballast resistors are faulty. IF that all tests good, check voltage between terminal 1 of coil and ground (with ignition on) it should read 2.0 volts max. If the voltage is incorrect, your icu is faulty. AFJuvat
