putting turbo/S2 valence rear valence on NA

I picked up a nice rear turbo valence for my car last night. I am trying to figure out if it mounts up to something that is already on the back of the car or if i am going to have to do some drilling.

Since your car is an 83, there are no mount holes pre-existing for it to mount to. The 85.5 and later cars have the 5 holes pre-existing under the car (because it is the same chassis as the turbos). However, even on those cars you need to drill the 2 holes on each quarter panel just at the line for the stone-guard material.

It will help you if you use a floor jack to hold the large piece up to psuedo-mount it, and mark the holes you need to make. The smaller piece on the drivers side can be held by hand and the holes marked.

Good luck!

When drilling the holes into the sides of each fender, make sure you measure (in this case line up and mark) twice and drill once. Needless to say i drilled 2 extra times on my drivers fender and once extra on the passenger. Nothing bondo and some touchup paint didnt fix...but avoid having to do that all together.

Excellence magazine did an article on adding a turbo rear valence to an n/a. It's not that difficult to do, and the article was very detailed.

Note that it really pertains to post 85.5 cars that have the 5 pre-drilled holes. But it should be helpfull nonetheless.

These links will self-destruct in 2 days.
