Humming..
This has always happened since I've owned the car, but it's been getting louder and noticeable at lower speeds lately.. at about 35 MPH, regardless of engine speed, there is a medium-high pitched humming sound.. it goes away when I turn the wheel left, but not when I turn the wheel right... wheel bearings?

sounds like the p/s pump, mine did the same thing right before it went kaboom. But yeah ,I'd check the wheel bearings too.

Where is the hum from, front or rear, left, right? I had a similar noise that was from my rear wheel bearings, both left and right went south about the same time (within 5,000 miles).

Um, it's hard to determine.. for the most part it sounds like it's coming from the rear, but now and again it sounds like front-passenger..
edit: sometimes on the highway it sounds kind of like a V8 exhaust.. if you know what I mean...? Last edited by Clowd; 03-04-2005 at 02:31 PM.. |
