How tough is a DME?
Hey,
How easy is it to burn out a DME? I bought my car burnt, and have not yet had it running. The DME harness was melted lightly, I was able to pull apart the wires and tape them up (not a permanent solution) but the car still does not run. I don't know of any way to test my DME; short of plugging it into a working car. So what do you think? Could I have fudged my computer or did the fire take care of it? I appreciate any ideas you can throw around.

If the fire didn't reach the DME in the passenger foot area then it's not the DME. Need to start checking your circuits to the AFS, temp sensors, throttle switch.
I would buy a good DME harness from a wrecking yard.
