No mods are necessary, Turbo struts will bolt right on. If you are just looking to get setup with Koni shocks, talk to either Skip or Jason at Paragon Products. They sell inserts for the late model struts.

Actually the 86 bolt pattern at the spindle is slightly different..... I tried swapping the spindles/hubs in my 86NA to finish of my turbo brake conversion but the strut mounting holes are just a little different...

You can modify the strut making the holes slightly bigger.......... but otherwise a 86' turbo spindle would do the trick. If you have the matching hub it would be ideal (but in reality I have never noticed differences among same year hubs)

You may be right. However, I have swapped struts between an '86 951 (early offset) and an '87 NA (late offset), and I had no problems.

'86 951 spindles are the same as '87+ n/as as far as strut bolt spacing and flange thickness goes. But the '86 n/a spindles are different. To put '87+ struts on the '86 n/a spindles you have to mill 1mm of material off each side of the spindle where the strut mounts and elongate the bottom holes in the struts towards the top of the strut to be able to mount to the narrower spindle bolt spacing.

Thanks for your help. The struts and spindles are at the machine shop.
