Radio Lockout CODE Message
After I key in my radio code number (after I disconnected the battery), what do I then push to get the radio working again? It thinks it's stolen and I put in the code number (e.g. only, 4456) and it just sits there and does nothing, then it goes blank on me.
What do I do after putting in the code number? Thanks, Harvey

Had the same problem with my wife's Passat.
1. Remove factory radio 2. Replace with Panasonic, Blaupunkt, Sony or whatever. 3. Hurl factory radio at nearest fire hydrant 4. Walk away, whistle a happy tune, confident in the fact that you will not longer have to deal with "radio codes" again!!! Of course, this was after letters to VW of America and a visit to the dealer, neither of which offered any encouragement. I have repaired a lot of electronic equipment over the years, but I wouldn't even try with a modern auto radio. Too many parts stiffed into too small a space and difficulty in finding wiring diagrams...

It's a Porsche radio, no other markings. I want to stay stock. Any 968s out there will original radios?
Harvey

Put a quality radio in it and keep the "original" for the next owner.
Plug in systems are available. The radio is made by Alpine. The last one we had a problen with we sent it to Alpine in California for recoding.
