Any good timing belt tools?
I am in need of purchasing a time belt adjustment tool. I remember seeing a post a while back that had a link to a custom built tool for this job. It looked idiot proof, not that I am an idiot. I lost the link to that site and wanted to know if anyone knows the link. Or, what tool should I buy? Which one is the easiest to use and not to expensive?

Arnnworx is currently working on a new design for his tool. Is there any onther tool as good as his. Maybe I will just have to wait for his tool to be available. Thanks

Thats me! At this point there is one person on "the list" once I get the tool back from 'mccromer'. I shipped it out to him on Monday, he expects to be done with it around the middle of next week. If you would like me to add your name to the list of people to ship it off to, just drop me an email at : vpjr1974@hotmail.com.
The tool is the Porsche Factory 9201 tension guage. I am more than willing to send it anywhere (in the US) if the borrower kicks in a few bucks for shipping. Seems like Nick is a kind helpful person like most people on here. I really hope this works out okay and he never regrets his decision. Thanks for contributing to the community Nick.

Thank-you Tom!
I have been Wrenching Porsches for about 12 years now on and off. I worked for a while in an import shop working on Mercedes, Porsches, Lotus, Ferraris, BMW, Audis... The list goes on and on. About 10 years ago I started putting together Midwest Porsche gatherings where people came from Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and even Wisconsin to get together for runs and various workshops. The second year I put one together I did a workshop on belt installation and tensioning as I had just broken down and purchased the 9201 tensioning tool. Since the area I live in now has a low demand for import techs, I am woking in a Subaru shop working on mostly WRX and STis. As a side note, I can't believe these little things that Subaru calls turbos.. er.. I didn't say that ![]() It is very common for P-car drivers to bring workshop manuals, etc. to these gatherings where we pretty much keep Kinkos in business as alot of people will trek into town and copy the tech manuals. I have had the pleasure of being a part of many different car groups, but Porsche owners are by far the best to associate with. I haven't been posting here long, but am already impressed with how helpfull alot of the "senior members" are. I will do my best to keep an active eye on the threads, and pitch in where ever I have had expertise. As a side note if anyone needs help with any of the other cars I have on my list below (even Indy cars: Lola, Renard, Cosworth, Hewland gearboxes, Formula Fords, yadda, yadda...) Feel free to pm me and I will do my best to help. Thanks again guys! Let's keep 'em running!
