slow RPM decrease to idle
The other day, while coming to a stop i saw something strange, it was the first time it happened, and hasnt done it since but it did it for about the next 2 or three stops i made then just sorta went away.
the car was warm, i shifted out of gear and into N. the car usually idles right around 850-900 in this case, as i took the car out of gear the idle came down very slow as the RPMs fell, it dropped to about 1200, 1100, very slooooowly. then eventually down to around 900. in fact for a minute while at the stop it was holding a idle around 1100 before it slowly coming down. my thoughts were maybe the ICV? Vac leaks? TPS, seems to work fine, it clicks in and out just as clarks said it should. my other thoughts were a sticky temp sensor but i think there are a few of them on these cars and im not sure which one to change or check... im going to spray carb cleaner when i get home under the intake and see if i can find any more vacuum leaks (found two so far). but after searching here my thoughts are a temp sensor?

Mine has done the exact same thing - only much more frequently. I'm thinking a problematic TPS but The "S" throttle body looks like a b*tch to get to. I'd love to hear more on this problem as well. Anyone care to chime in with experience here?

when i replace my radiator, water hoses, and clamps for the cooling system im going to install a new DME temp sensor and see if that helps (its on the way).
otherwise im thinking Idle control valve? or like you said the TPS
