1983 porsche 944
i was sitting at a stop light and the light is about to turn green........ i press the clutch pedal in and a weird winding noise goes and the shifter feels to rattle so i let go of the clutch...... noise stops but if i am accelerating the car seems to work like normal could there be something wrong with my clutch ?????? please help me

best guest throw out bear part #931-116-082-04 the noise stop becasue the bearing stop spinning. when the cluch pedal is down the throw out bearing applies pressure to the pressure plate fingers, the throw out bearing starts spinning causing the noise. the bearing are worn or they got rusted if the car when through a deep puddle of water. that happen to me be for.

Yup, sounds like a throw-out bearing to me as well.
If you're changing that, may as well do a full clutch change since the cost is much more labor than parts and as long as you have to do all the labor now, you might as well replace everything so you don't have to go into it again.
