I've heard that too, but it makes you ask the question....how does the air get under the insulation in the first place? Insulation is melted on the wires specifically to keep the air out and reduce corrosion as well as keeping it from short circuiting. I think it's time to write the Bosch engineers on this one. Admittedly, I am not an oxygen sensor engineer, but I'm just not buying the air traveling down the wire theory blindly but it also doesn't make too much sense that Bosch would supply a special connector if it wasn't needed.
