front strut question

are the front struts for an '88 NA and an '89 S2 the same? Porsche does not have a S2 parts catalog online for some reason.

A quick answer would be appreciated as i have a line on some used Konis

thanks,

nate

You are still playing with these things Nate??? I am 99% sure that the 87 and 88 are different from all the other years. I got a pair from Ebay. The part numbers are 944.343.031.17 and 032. That part number is not on the PET... strange... that's prob half the problem with the correct struts for the 87 and 88 MY. I still have my old ones. They were not the problem, so they are still "decent." let me know if you're interested. I was going to put them on ebay one of these days to see if I couldn't get some money back.

Maybe they are the same strut. Here's a link. Call them and ask them, they will know for sure!

It's a different part number. Here's a better link...

I was all ready to order the Koni inserts but would rather buy the complete assemblies if they will fit because I'm lazy. Also just picked up an old F*rd pickup, which was supposed to be "turn key" but of course i'm finding little things to fix on that too...

Nothin is turn key unless it's brand new. Call Pelican and ask them about the struts. I've talked to them before, they are very helpful. That would be awesome if they would work for you!

You might try 944on-line. They have a great catalog and it's segregated into pre-85.5, 85.5+, S2, Turbo, etc.. It's very easy to find your parts this way and if you call them, they are extremely helpful. I purchased my Koni inserts from them and the owner (Ieon), walked me thru the whole procedure. They are also doing the inserts themselves and selling "turnkey" sets. Check them out.....
