924 944 door handle question

Hi guys, Will late style 944 script handles work on a 77 924 door? TIA

If your handles are interchangable with the '83 944, then yes.

In order to re-use your lock cylinders, you'll have to file down a notch to get the cylinders to fit flush. I just recently did this job on my '83.

Nope, The actuating mechanism in a 944 is different from that in a 924. I've got an 83 944 and my wife drives a 77.5 924. The outer door handles won't interchange.

Slam is right I was thinking of the later model 924's 80-82 and the 924S.

I thought I read somewhere that the 924 door handles were out of the vw parts bin and were also used on same vintage vw's. Might be worth checking the bone yards.
