944 Oil Recommendation

I've got a noisy gearbox...PO put in a fidanza flywheel which I think contributes a lot to the increased whine in low gears when coasting. I put in Swepco 210 (yes, 210 not 201) which is a bit heavier and it seemed to quiet it down significantly. I'd tried a number of gear oil prior to that and the guy that runs my local Porsche shop recommended the 210 and I won't go back.

As for engine oil - I'm a super fan of the Brad Penn 20W-50 racing oil. It's a little more expensive and I can't find it anywhere local so I buy a couple cases at a time, but it's well worth it. My car sips oil now, keeps very strong oil pressure and I can't find any leaks. It also contains the proper amount of ZDDP that these engines require. For a 20+ year old car - especially a high performance one - lubrication is not a place where I'm looking to save $20 when it's time to change them...

For the transaxle I was planning on putting in Redline 75W90NS (No Slip). I have a Subaru WRX as well (with a transaxle that has shared tranny / diff oil) and it works wonders for shifting, the reason being that regular gear oil is actually too slippery for the synchros to function properly. It sounds like mumbo jumbo until you've tried.

According to the place that sells it near me, 911 guys swear by it too.
