Oh, pushed the wrong button, sorry!
I searched the internet for L-Jetronic or Motronic which are the DME computer in our cars and I found a wiring scheme for one of those, Bosch 262 200 085 in fact. It is used in a 911 year 1987! My Motronic finishes with 016 and it was said to be very similar in construction. Here and at last I could find the electronic wiring for every input and output from DMR/ECU to ignition coil, fuel injectors, speed sensors, AFM, air valve und so weiter. From the back of my head I started to remember something about electronics from my early days and found that ALL outgoing power functions from the DME/ECU are switched by by power transistors in Darlington style I think. And the IMPORTANT thing here is that the switching transistors make and break to chassi ground and also have a transient protection diode over its emitter - collector........even the transistor that make and break the ignition primary coil. This is what really struck me, only a diode here to limit the transients/arcing from the coil. And if that will function in DME/ECU it will also function for the DME relay fuel pump part, contact 87b. I think it is as easy like that, really. But your test Dave would be great to perform and it can be done with a standard double contact relay and wire it like the original one. As I´ve pionted out before, it is only the fuel pump fixed relay contact that need to be fitted with a diode. The other DME relay contact 87 is already taken care of within the DME/ECU.
