There can be No forgiveness for such an offense!

But seriously, I can see nothing but good coming from the wives talking. It gives those of us who cant "read minds" a chance to find out what they really think..eh?

Steve ( Bland), how do you keep those ferrits of yours away from the guitars.. Seems there would be good hiding places in there. Very nice collection, actually!

She is making me ask for your wives or gf's names so that she can stand her own club on women against hubbies with Porsches that love forums. I am soooo sorry guys for breaking the trust. Please forgive me

Due to the wonders of an always on high speed internet connection I have the pleasure of checking the boards every time I sit down at the computer. Its crazy, the routine I get into. As soon as firefox launches, tabs for email, pelican, facebook... all up and refreshed.

Classes are going pretty good too steve. Keeps my mind off the clutch job the red car needs. Its running on a bum rubber center (that klunk we talked about in Herman) and eventually the metal tabs keeping it going are going to fail. But I still drive it... might as well enjoy it before it eats $600 and a bunch more of my time.

I usually have nothing else better to do in the morning and afternoon in between classes, so i just browse the forums. This has been going on the last 4 years now.. .

Owning one of these cars has been a great experience for me, ive meet some great people through the Porsche club and have a great group of 'track buddies'. I just love the car also, always been a car guy..always will be! It keeps me busy on the weekends also..always have to get the car ready for an upcoming track day!

My morning routine always includes checking it out real quick, usually around 5-5:30 AM. I normally sit as I am now w/ a cup of coffee and this droning noise in the background. I stopped reading and listened to the noise yesterday and tried to locate the source. It appeared to be coming from my wife, her lips were moving and noise was coming out of her mouth. I could only understand a few words...mow grass....work.....our kids.....the house is on fire..... A few "yes dears, it makes you look thin, etc" and the drone subsided a bit so I could get back to what is really important in life, the forum, coffee, and a bowl of cereal. A word of advice to you young guys. After 25 or so years of being married when your wife asks you "do you still think I am pretty, do you still love me" allow your mind to imagine the Porsche is saying those words, it will make it easier to produce the proper response.

By the way my wife has now had the opportunity to meet a few of the guys from the board, I think she was surprised that they have all been really cool, relatively normal, people. I think she was expecting a bunch of total geeks w/ star wars helmets on or something.

I had issues with my ex wife along those lines. She was angry that I spent a lot of time with my car (at the time a 3 series) and online learning about it, and talked about it all the time. Of course, she had a lot of other problems as well. Hence the "ex".

My current fiance loves my 911, and her only complaint is that I've only let her drive it once. She's saving her pennies to buy a 944 or a 914. I found a keeper.

Steve - I'll bet the fretless with the F-hole has some truly smooth tones. Very nice! Our bassist has what is probably the only headless Hohner 5-string with humbuckers in Canada. Nobody believes him when he says it's stock.

The precision A/E is my favorite to play out with. It has a set of piezos under a bone bridge and a balance control to blend between the p-bass pickup and the bridge. The fretboard is rosewood and not that hard so I use tape wound round wounds, they sound great. For a Japanese Fender it is very nice. It gets really close to the sound of the upright. They only made them a couple years and they were not that expensive. I got mine used for around $800. I have a 67 p-bass my dad gave me that is also pretty cool, great for a blues gig but almost too valuable to take out anymore. The Alembic is nice but over-rated. The Carvins are well...Carvins...cheap and effective. The tele bass is so heavy that it is essentially useless, I have just had it a long time (bought new in 72). The other p-bass is an original lined fretless 69 that I also got new (Christmas present from my dad).

Steve,
I've given you some light hearted flack about changing your previous name but I just looked up "Shikza" in an on line dictionary. If the actual spelling is supposed to be "Shiksa", apparently that is a very nasty word in other cultures. So, perhaps you're using sound judgement in the change. And if so, I applaud your sensitivity to the circumstance.
Sincerely
Gordon

Sorry, it's off topic but I am just curious.

Thanks:

Steve
