Anyone have Excellence 968 values?
Seems the Blue Book values on the 968's are really low.
KBB claims a 1993 car with 100,000 miles is only worth 10,150 for an excellent condition car. I would think this should be more like 12-14,000. Does anyone have the Excellence magazine latest values for the 968? They are usually more representative of the market.

Schumi,
The best indicater of value is to see how much it went for, not the book price. Value is subjective especially in this market. It's the wrong time of the year (winter) and the market generally sucks. No one has money or has a hard time getting financed. There are 3 prices in anything. Asking price, liking price and finally taking price; all of which are different. Having said that, I would look at recent sold prices. Ebay, Greggs list, local papers and PCA, Renn list and others. Doing this gives you the true market value. Excellence, KBB, Edmunds don't mean anything other than a starting point.

The 968 in the classifieds is near me and I was potentially going to go look at it. I have been wanting a 986 (yes, 9 8 6) since their values have really fallen and stabilized somewhat at the 15-18K range. I plan on eventually selling my red 87 924S to a friend who I know would take care of it. But that 968 got me thinking. It would be similar performance to a boxster and after reading Excellence's review about 6 months ago pitting it against the 964 it really opened my eyes to exactly how much evolution the platform went under from early 944 to 968. And the 968 seems like a car I would be more likely to be able to service (or, want to service) since they are similar to what I already own.
