DME interchangability
What is the interchangability of the 1985.5 through 1988 ( 1989? ) original DME's? I see the original part #'s superceded to the same Bosch rebuilt part number, but are the original units interchangable? On some of my other cars I can replace an earlier unit with a later one, but not vice versa. Any experience interchanging?

The DME is specific to to engine model. 1985.5 through 1987 N/A are the same. 1988 N/A is that year only. 1987 and 1988 944S are the same. 1986 through 1988 Turbo are the same.
